16-bit bus interface buffer — 5V logic, 48-BSSOP
The 74FCT16244ETPV is a FAST 16-bit non-inverting buffer/line driver from the FCT logic family, organized as four 4-bit elements with independent 3-state output enables. The 48-BSSOP (7.50mm width) package suits dense PCB layouts where board area is constrained.
Output drive and bus loading
Each output can source 32mA and sink 64mA, providing enough drive for heavily loaded parallel buses with multiple fan-out. The 3-state outputs allow multiple drivers to share a common bus line without contention when the output enable is deasserted. The 4-bit-per-element organization gives granular control — you can gate individual byte lanes without external logic.
Temperature range and deployment environment
The 5V supply tolerance covers both regulated 5V rails and the upper end of a 3.3V-to-5V level-shifted bus.
