Board-level timing and drive
The 74FCT162374CTPVG8 is a dual 8-bit D-type flip-flop from the 74FCT series, clocked on the positive edge with tri-state non-inverted outputs. Its 5.2 ns max propagation delay at 5 V into 50 pF sets the timing budget for a synchronous bus — the data must be stable at the next device's input setup window within that window after the clock edge. Output drive is rated 24 mA source and sink per channel, enough to drive a heavily loaded backplane or a bank of LED indicators without external buffers. The 500 µA quiescent current keeps the static power draw low in systems that idle between bursts.
Package and supply integration
Housed in a 48-BSSOP (0.295", 7.50 mm width) package, the 74FCT162374CTPVG8 sits on a 0.65 mm pitch footprint — the 48-SSOP land pattern is standard and routes easily on a 4-layer board.
