The NXP MKL36Z64VLL4 is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M0+ microcontroller from the Kinetis KL3 series, clocked at 48 MHz with 64 KB of Flash and 8 KB of RAM. It packs 84 general-purpose I/O lines, an on-chip segment LCD controller, I²S audio interface, and a 16-bit ADC — all in a 100-LQFP package.
On-chip LCD and I²S — saves a codec and a display driver
The KL3 variant includes a segment LCD controller (up to 8x40 or 4x44 segments) and an I²S serial audio interface. That means a simple HMI with a custom glass LCD and a small speaker or buzzer can run without an external display driver or audio codec. The 16-bit ADC handles analog inputs like a potentiometer or thermistor directly.
Supply and temperature — industrial rated
Temperature grade is -40°C to 105°C. Brown-out detect, low-voltage detect, and a programmable watchdog are built in.
