Dual-core architecture — asymmetric real-time and application processing
The MIMXRT1166CVM5A pairs a 500 MHz ARM Cortex-M7 for application-level throughput with a 240 MHz Cortex-M4 for deterministic control loops, sensor fusion, or communications offload. That split lets a single chip handle both an EtherCAT stack and a motor FOC algorithm without a separate host processor.
Connectivity and peripheral set for industrial edge nodes
CANbus, Ethernet, USB OTG, multiple SPI/I²C/UART interfaces, plus EBI/EMI for external memory or FPGA glue — this part is wired for a gateway role in factory automation or an IoT edge controller. The internal 12-bit ADC and 12-bit DAC cover analog sense and trim loops without a separate converter.
Supply range and power flexibility
The Vcc/Vdd supply range is 2.4 V to 3.6 V. Brown-out detect and POR are integrated.
