Dual-core MCU for mixed real-time and application control
The NXP LPC4312JET100E is a 32-bit dual-core microcontroller built around an ARM Cortex-M4 and a Cortex-M0, running at 204 MHz. The M4 handles DSP and floating-point math for motor-control loops or audio processing; the M0 offloads housekeeping like communication stack handling and I/O polling. Program memory is 512 KB of Flash, backed by 104 KB of SRAM and 16 KB of EEPROM for parameter storage without external memory. Supply range is 2.2 V to 3.6 V.
The LPC4312JET100E comes in a 100-ball TFBGA (9x9 mm) — a fine-pitch BGA that requires a solder-paste stencil, reflow oven, and X-ray inspection. Not a hand-solderable package; plan for a pick-and-place step and a pre-production solder-joint verification on the first build.
