ARM9 MCU with 125 MHz core and dual CAN
The NXP LPC2939FBD208551 is a 16/32-bit ARM9-based microcontroller from the LPC2900 series, clocked at 125 MHz. The peripheral set includes dual CANbus, USB OTG, EBI/EMI, I²C, LINbus, SPI, and multiple UART/USART interfaces — enough connectivity for an industrial gateway or multi-protocol automation controller. A 24-channel 10-bit ADC handles analog sensing without an external converter. Supply range is 1.71 V to 3.6 V, and the device operates across -40 to 85 °C, making it suitable for factory-floor and outdoor telecom enclosures.
At 125 MHz, the ARM9 core delivers enough processing headroom for real-time control loops, protocol stack handling (CAN, USB), and data-logging without a separate co-processor. The 768 KB Flash holds a full firmware image with room for field-update staging; the 56 KB RAM supports moderate-sized buffers for Ethernet or USB packets. For applications that need more memory, the EBI/EMI interface allows expansion with external SRAM or Flash.
Housed in a 208-LQFP (28×28 mm) surface-mount package. The 152 I/O lines require a multi-layer board for routing.
