The 75 MHz ARM7 core delivers enough throughput for real-time control loops and communication protocol handling without a cache or MMU. The 64K x 8 RAM (64 KB) is sufficient for stack, buffers, and small data arrays, but the ROMless architecture means the BOM must include an external Flash or EPROM for code storage — typically a parallel NOR Flash or serial SPI Flash via the EBI. Designs that need more than 64 KB of working memory will require an external SRAM or SDRAM, which the EBI supports directly.
