ARM7 MCU with 60 MHz core and 128 KB Flash
The NXP LPC2212FBD144/01551 is a 16/32-bit ARM7 microcontroller from the LPC2200 series, built around the ARM7 core running at 60 MHz. It carries 128 KB of on-chip Flash program memory and 16K x 8 of SRAM, with an 8-channel 10-bit ADC, a full set of serial interfaces (I²C, SPI, SSI, SSP, UART/USART, Microwire), and an external bus interface (EBI/EMI) for memory or peripheral expansion.
At 60 MHz the ARM7 core executes a single-cycle multiply and handles interrupt latency in a few tens of nanoseconds. For a motor-drive current loop sampled at 10 kHz or a Modbus RTU poll cycle, that is enough headroom to run the control algorithm and the protocol stack without a separate communications coprocessor. The 128 KB Flash is sized for moderate firmware — a bootloader plus application code for a PID loop, HMI string tables, and a fieldbus stack fits without external memory.
On-chip ADC and serial connectivity
The 8-channel 10-bit ADC covers analog inputs. The EBI/EMI bus lets you attach an external SRAM or a parallel LCD controller.
