180 MHz Cortex-M3 with 1 MB Flash — what this means for the BOM
The NXP LPC18S37JET100E is a 32-bit ARM Cortex-M3 microcontroller running at 180 MHz, with 1 MB of Flash program memory and 136K x 8 of SRAM. That means one MCU can serve as the system controller, fieldbus gateway, and HMI interface without a second processor. The 49 GPIOs are enough for a modest keypad, indicator LEDs, and a parallel LCD data bus — but if you need more than 49, the EBI can be repurposed for memory-mapped I/O expansion.
