The 72 MHz core on this part is the same speed grade as the larger LPC134x siblings, so the instruction throughput for a given task is identical. Where this part differs is memory: 48 KB Flash and 8 KB RAM limit firmware complexity and buffer size. If your application fits within that memory envelope, you get the same performance as the higher-density variants without paying for unused Flash.
Memory map and field-update strategy
The 4 KB EEPROM block stores calibration constants or configuration parameters without wearing the Flash. If you need in-field reprogramming, plan for a bootloader that fits within the first 8 KB and leaves the remaining 40 KB for the application.
ROHS3 compliant. The LPC13xx series is a mature, broadly deployed family; no end-of-life notice is in effect. For dual-source planning, pin-compatible alternatives exist within the same LPC13xx density options, but no official second-source cross-reference is available.
