6.8 µH shielded wirewound — current rating and saturation ceiling
The Murata LQH2HPN6R8MGRL is a shielded wirewound inductor in the LQH2 series, rated 6.8 µH ±20% with a continuous current rating of 860 mA and a saturation current of 830 mA. The 474 mOhm max DCR sets the conduction loss — at 860 mA the I²R loss is roughly 350 mW, which must be dissipated within the 1008 package without exceeding the 85°C operating limit.
Self-resonant frequency and usable band
Self-resonant frequency is 40 MHz — above this the inductor behaves capacitively, so the effective inductance rolls off well before that point. For a buck converter switching at 2–4 MHz, the 6.8 µH value holds; at a 10 MHz switching frequency the margin to SRF is only 4×, which may reduce the effective inductance under load. Inductance is tested at 1 MHz, consistent with the mid-frequency range where this value is typically applied in DC-DC conversion and filtering.
1008 footprint and board-fit constraints
The low profile suits tight card-edge or mezzanine assemblies where the inductor must clear an adjacent shield can or enclosure wall.
