15 µH shielded inductor for automotive and industrial DC-DC filtering
The LQH2HNH150J03L is a 15 µH ±5% wirewound inductor from Murata's LQH2 series, built on a ferrite drum core with a shielded magnetic shield. The 120 mA current rating and 1.85 Ohm DCR define the DC bias headroom and conduction loss — at full rated current, I²R loss is about 27 mW, which combined with ambient temperature must stay within the 125 °C maximum operating limit. The 23 MHz self-resonant frequency means the inductor behaves inductively up to that point; above it, parasitic capacitance dominates. For a buck converter switching at 2 MHz, the 15 µH value provides about 30% ripple current at typical loads — a practical starting point for output filter design.
AEC-Q200 qualification and deployment envelope
Rated AEC-Q200, this inductor is qualified for automotive stress profiles including thermal shock, vibration, and humidity bias.
The shielded construction reduces radiated EMI, which matters when the inductor sits near sensitive analog traces or RF sections on a mixed-signal board. Supplied on tape and reel (cut tape also available), the part is compatible with standard pick-and-place assembly. The ferrite core material is not mechanically fragile, but the wirewound construction means the solder joint bears the mechanical load — ensure the pad layout matches the recommended land pattern for 1008 to avoid tombstoning.
