3.3 µH shielded inductor for DC-DC power stages
The Murata DFE252010P-3R3M=P2 is a 3.3 µH shielded wirewound inductor in the DFE252010P series, built with a flat-wire winding on an iron powder core.
Rated current is 1.4 A, while the saturation current (Isat) is 2.1 A — the inductor can handle brief load transients up to the saturation limit before the inductance rolls off sharply. For a buck converter supplying a 1.2 V core rail at 1 A, the inductor's peak-to-peak ripple current plus the DC bias must stay below the saturation floor; a 30% ripple fraction at 1 A load leaves headroom before hitting 2.1 A. DC resistance is 195 mΩ max — at 1.4 A the I²R loss is roughly 0.38 W, which drives the temperature rise inside the 1008 case.
Shielded construction and flat-wire winding
The shield reduces radiated EMI from the magnetic field — important when the inductor sits next to a sensitive ADC or RF front-end on the same board. The flat-wire winding packs more copper cross-section into the same volume than round wire, which lowers DCR for a given inductance value compared to a conventional wirewound part of the same footprint.
