4.7 µH shielded inductor for DC-DC output filtering
The Murata DFE252007F-4R7M=P2 is a drum-core wirewound inductor in the DFE252007F series, designed for surface-mount power applications where a shielded construction and low profile are required. Rated at 940 mA with a saturation current of 1.2 A, this 4.7 µH inductor handles the output ripple current of a buck converter without saturating the core, provided the peak current stays below the Isat ceiling.
Shielded iron-powder core with flat-wire winding
The iron powder core material and flat-wire winding reduce AC winding losses at switching frequencies and improve saturation current density compared to ferrite cores of the same volume. Shielding contains the magnetic flux within the inductor body, which minimizes radiated EMI into nearby traces and components — important when the inductor sits close to an RF or analog section on the PCB. Inductance is tested at 1 MHz, a typical switching frequency for mid-current buck converters, so the value is representative of in-circuit performance.
