2.925V trip point — the 3.3V rail watchdog
The Microchip MCP100T-300I/TT is a simple reset/power-on reset supervisor that monitors a single voltage rail and asserts a reset when VCC drops below the 2.925V threshold. This threshold is set for 3.3V nominal systems — it trips before the logic supply falls out of spec, holding the processor in reset until the rail recovers and the 150ms minimum timeout expires. The push-pull, totem-pole output drives the reset line directly without an external pull-up resistor, saving one component per BOM.
This supervisor is suited for factory automation, outdoor telecom cabinets, motor drives, and other equipment that sees seasonal temperature swings but not extended under-hood or downhole extremes. The SOT-23-3 package keeps the footprint small — three pins, one for VCC, one for GND, one for the /RST output.
