MCS-48 8-bit RISC MCU — legacy control core
The Intel MD8749H is an 8-bit RISC microcontroller from the MCS-48 family, running at 11 MHz with 27 I/O lines and ROM program memory. It operates from a 4.5 V supply over the commercial temperature range of 0 to 70 °C, in a through-hole package. This part was designed for embedded control in appliances, office equipment, and industrial peripherals where a simple, fixed-program controller sufficed.
11 MHz clock, ROM storage — what it means for the BOM
The 11 MHz clock rate is the maximum external oscillator frequency. Program memory is mask ROM, so firmware is fixed at the factory.
