Voltage thresholds and clamping behaviour
The 1.5KE250ABULK: The reverse standoff voltage is 214V — the device draws negligible leakage below this level. Breakdown begins at 237V minimum, and the clamping voltage is held to 344V maximum at the rated 4.4A peak pulse current. This 130V window between standoff and clamp means the TVS stays out of the circuit during normal operation but limits a transient to a safe level for components rated above 350V.
Package and board integration
Supplied in a DO-201AA / DO-27 axial-lead package (through-hole), the 1.5KE250ABULK mounts into a 1.1mm diameter hole on a standard PCB or terminal strip. The DO-201 body handles the 1500W pulse without cracking the epoxy — the lead diameter and bond-wire cross-section are sized for the 4.4A surge current. Operating temperature spans -65°C to 175°C, covering both cold-start and hot-soak conditions in outdoor or enclosed equipment.
Production status and sourcing
No pin-compatible second source is documented in the series, but the DO-201 footprint is common across TVS families if an alternate is needed.
