Board-fit and integration note
The SMCJ9.0AQ-13-F: The 10 V minimum breakdown voltage means it starts conducting just above the 9 V standoff, protecting downstream components from overvoltage events up to 15.4 V clamp at 97.4 A peak pulse current (10/1000 µs waveform). Qualified to AEC-Q101, it is rated for the -55°C to 150°C junction temperature range typical of under-hood automotive electronics — an ECU or sensor module exposed to engine-bay heat still has margin at 125°C ambient.
The DO-214AB (SMC) body is a standard surface-mount package with JEDEC-registered footprint. The copper pad area under the cathode tab sets the thermal resistance — a 25 mm² pad on 2 oz copper keeps the junction-to-ambient below 60°C/W, necessary to sustain repetitive pulse trains without exceeding the 150°C TJ limit. Supplied on Tape & Reel (TR), it is compatible with high-speed pick-and-place lines. The 13-inch reel quantity suits volume production runs; smaller quantities are available via cut-tape or re-reel on request.
