1500 W peak pulse — the clamping point that decides the rail protection
The SMCJ43A-13: At that power level, the clamping voltage maxes at 69.4 V when the peak pulse current hits 21.6 A, which means a 43 V nominal rail gets held below 70 V during a surge event. The 47.8 V minimum breakdown voltage gives the guard band above the 43 V reverse standoff — the diode stays off during normal DC operation and only conducts when the transient pushes the line past that threshold.
DO-214AB SMC — reflow profile and board integration
The wide temperature span suits it for industrial and telecom environments where the ambient inside the enclosure can swing well past the commercial 85 °C mark. The single unidirectional channel means this variant protects one polarity — the cathode band on the package marks the protected side, and the anode connects to ground. For AC or bipolar lines, two devices or a bidirectional variant would be needed.
Active production and sourcing posture
The Tape & Reel packaging option (also available as Cut Tape) aligns with standard pick-and-place assembly.
