Active production — still a standard BOM line
The SMCJ26CA-13: For a production BOM that calls out a 1500W bidirectional TVS in DO-214AB, this part is still the original-spec line item, not a last-time-buy or a substitute.
1.5 kW clamping — what the ratings mean for rail protection
The 26 V reverse standoff means a 24 V or 28 V DC rail stays below the TVS trigger voltage during normal operation — the device only conducts when a transient exceeds the 28.9 V minimum breakdown. Useful on AC-coupled signal lines or DC rails where reverse-polarity events are possible.
DO-214AB SMC — board-fit and temperature envelope
Supplied in the DO-214AB (SMC) package. The SMC body is larger than the SMA/SMB siblings — it handles the 1.5 kW pulse without exceeding the junction temperature limit. Operating range spans -55°C to 150°C, which covers automotive under-hood and industrial enclosure ambient without derating. Tape & Reel packaging — standard for pick-and-place assembly. No power line protection claim means this is a signal- or DC-rail transient suppressor, not a mains-class MOV replacement.
