The SMCJ22A-13: The 1500W rating is the peak pulse power dissipation for an 8/20µs or 10/1000µs waveform — the actual energy handling depends on the pulse duration. For a 22V rail, the 35.5V clamp margin leaves headroom for common 24V to 28V transient peaks without triggering the TVS unnecessarily.
