600 W unidirectional Zener TVS for 60 V rails
The SMBJ60A-13 is a 600 W peak-pulse-power Zener TVS diode from Diodes Incorporated's SMBJ series, designed to clamp transients on 60 V nominal rails.
What the ratings mean for your BOM
The 60 V reverse standoff voltage (VRWM) is the DC or peak-AC voltage the TVS can sit across without conducting — a 48 V battery bus or a 60 V telecom rail is the right application. The 66.7 V minimum breakdown voltage (VBR) gives a 6.7 V guard band above the standoff, so the TVS does not leak or degrade under normal line ripple. Clamping at 96.8 V (max) at the rated 6.2 A peak pulse current means downstream components must survive that voltage for the 10/1000 µs pulse width. The -55 °C to +150 °C junction temperature range suits industrial and automotive environments where the ambient under the hood or inside a sealed enclosure can exceed 85 °C.
For BOM planning, the base product number SMBJ60 covers the full family; the -13 suffix denotes Tape & Reel packaging.
