DO-214AA SMB footprint and board-fit
Housed in the DO-214AA (SMB) package, the SMBJ17CA-13-F is a surface-mount device with a standard JEDEC outline. The SMB footprint mates with the same copper pad pattern as other SMB-packaged TVS diodes, so a board already laid out for a unidirectional SMB device accepts this bidirectional part without a layout change — just mind the polarity marking (bidirectional parts are not polarity-sensitive).
