Clamping voltage and pulse current

The 58.1V maximum clamping voltage at 6.9A peak pulse current (10/1000µs) defines the voltage stress the downstream circuitry must survive. A 36V rail protected by this diode sees transients clamped just over 58V, which is within the abs-max rating of most 60V-rated DC-DC converters and linear regulators. The 400W peak pulse power rating at the standard 10/1000µs pulse covers typical ESD, load-dump, and inductive kickback events in 24V and 36V industrial and automotive auxiliary rails.
