Automotive-grade transient suppression for 170V rails
The SMAJ170AQ-13-F: It is qualified to AEC-Q101, the automotive discrete semiconductor stress qualification standard, covering temperature cycling, ESD, and reliability screening for under-hood and cabin deployments. The 170V reverse standoff voltage means it does not conduct at normal bus levels, only above the 189V minimum breakdown threshold.
Package and temperature envelope
Housed in a DO-214AC (SMA) surface-mount package, the SMAJ170AQ-13-F occupies a standard footprint for 400W-class TVS diodes. The operating junction temperature range spans -55°C to 150°C, covering the full automotive temperature profile including engine-bay soak conditions. It is a unidirectional device — one channel per package, with no power line protection feature (not intended for AC mains clamping).
