400W bidirectional transient suppressor for 130V rails
The SMAJ130CA-13 is a 400W bidirectional TVS diode from Diodes Incorporated, designed to clamp transients on 130V DC rails. The 130V reverse standoff voltage is the maximum continuous DC the device blocks without conducting — below that threshold it sits as a high-impedance shunt. When a surge exceeds the 144V minimum breakdown, the Zener junction avalanches and clamps the voltage to 209V maximum at the rated 1.9A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform). For a 130V rail — common in telecom rectifiers, industrial DC buses, and 120VAC-derived supplies — this part catches the overvoltage spike before it reaches the downstream controller or FET gate.
Package and temperature envelope
Housed in the DO-214AC (SMA) surface-mount package, the SMAJ130CA-13 fits the standard SMA footprint used across the SMAJ series. The operating junction temperature range spans -55°C to 150°C, covering the full industrial temperature band with headroom for self-heating during repetitive surge events. The SMA package's copper tab on the cathode side (for unidirectional variants) is not present here — the bidirectional die sits between two terminals, so thermal management relies on the PCB copper pad area under the body.
Pricing and lead time are confirmed at RFQ; the Tape & Reel packaging suits automated pick-and-place assembly in volume production.
