Surge rating and protection window
The SMAJ10CA-13-F: The 23.5 A peak pulse current at that waveform sets the upper limit for the transient the diode can clamp. A 10 V nominal rail with a 20 % tolerance sits safely below the 11.1 V breakdown threshold.
Package and deployment context
Housed in the DO-214AC (SMA) package with a surface-mount footprint — this is the standard two-lead outline for TVS diodes in the 400 W class. The SMA body is smaller than the SMC package used for 600 W parts, saving board area when the surge requirement fits within the 400 W rating. Rated for continuous operation from -55 °C to 150 °C junction temperature. The 150 °C ceiling means the diode can be placed near hot components (a regulator, a power IC) without derating the surge capability at typical board temperatures. Bidirectional clamping (one diode, two directions) suits AC-coupled signals or lines that swing both sides of ground.
