What the 1 µH, 1.65 A rating means for your rail
The LPS6225-102MRC is a 1 µH shielded drum-core inductor rated for 1.65 A continuous current with a saturation current floor of 5.4 A. That saturation headroom — over 3× the rated current — means the inductance holds up well under transient load steps; the core won't saturate until the current nearly triples the DC rating. The 40 mOhm maximum DCR sets the copper loss at 1.65 A to about 109 mW (I²R).
AEC-Q200 qualification — what it certifies for your BOM
This inductor carries AEC-Q200 qualification, the passive-component stress-test standard for automotive electronics. That means it has passed temperature cycling, moisture resistance, mechanical shock, vibration, and solder-heat reflow tests per the AEC-Q200 rev D (or later) specification. For a DC-DC converter feeding an infotainment head unit or an ADAS sensor module, this grade removes the need for a separate PPAP submission on the inductor line item. If your design targets a 105°C or 125°C ambient, you would need to step up to a higher-temperature-grade Coilcraft series.
That's a low-profile shielded inductor — useful when the clearance under a nearby connector or enclosure lid is tight. The surface-mount ferrite core is wound on a drum and encapsulated; the shield reduces radiated field coupling into adjacent traces or a nearby RF section. Self-resonant frequency is 178 MHz, well above the switching frequency of most point-of-load converters (typically 500 kHz to 4 MHz). The 100 kHz test frequency for the inductance value is standard for power inductors — the 1 µH holds flat across the audio and low-MHz range until the SRF knee.
