680 µH shielded drum core — what the ratings mean for the BOM
The LPS5015-684MRC: Rated for 130 mA continuous current with a saturation current floor of 100 mA — the inductor maintains its inductance up to the saturation limit; above that the core saturates and the inductance drops sharply, so the 100 mA Isat is the hard ceiling for the DC bias in the circuit. Self-resonant frequency is 4 MHz — above this frequency the inductor behaves capacitively, so the 680 µH value is only valid below 4 MHz in the application.
