The Coilcraft LPS5015-185MRC is a shielded drum core inductor in the LPS5015 series, delivering 1.8 mH inductance at 100 kHz test frequency with ±20% tolerance. Rated for 85 mA continuous current, with a saturation current floor of 78 mA — the inductor's magnetic core saturates above this point, causing inductance to drop sharply. The 28 Ohm maximum DCR means I²R losses are significant at full rated current: at 85 mA, the winding dissipates roughly 200 mW, which must be accounted for in the thermal budget of the surrounding PCB. The 2.2 MHz self-resonant frequency sets the upper bound for effective filtering — above this frequency the component behaves capacitively rather than inductively, so it is suited for DC-DC converter switching frequencies up to the low hundreds of kHz.
