Clamping parameters and what they mean for the circuit
The 1.5SMC20CA-Q: Breakdown occurs at 19 V minimum, and clamping is held to 27.7 V at the full 54.9 A peak current. Bidirectional configuration (single channel) means the same clamping characteristic applies to positive and negative transients — no orientation concern on the PCB, which simplifies assembly for automated pick-and-place in the DO-214AB (SMC) package. The wide thermal envelope also suits telecom base-station equipment where enclosure temperatures can exceed 85°C.
Supplied in Tape & Reel packaging for surface-mount assembly.
