What the ratings mean for your BOM
For a 75V rail, the 12.4A peak pulse current means the diode can absorb a transient that would otherwise punch through a downstream regulator or driver IC. The 121V clamping voltage is the ceiling the protected node sees; ensure the downstream components have a breakdown rating above this level. The DO-214AA (SMB) package is a standard surface-mount footprint shared across the 1.5SMBJ family. The same land pattern serves the full voltage range, so a BOM swap from a lower-voltage variant to this 75V part does not require a board spin.
