70V rail clamp with 1.5 kW surge rating
The Bourns 1.5SMBJ70A is a 1500W peak pulse power Zener TVS diode in the AEC-Q101 qualified 1.5SMBJ series, designed to clamp transients on 70V nominal rails. Reverse standoff voltage is 70V; breakdown occurs at a minimum of 77.8V. The clamping voltage at the 13.3A peak pulse current (10/1000µs waveform) is 113V max, limiting the voltage seen by the protected load. AEC-Q101 qualification means this part meets automotive-grade stress and reliability requirements — suited for 70V bus lines in engine bay or chassis domain ECUs, battery management systems, and DC motor drive circuits.
DO-214AA SMB footprint and temp range
The single unidirectional channel protects one signal or power rail per device. Operating junction temperature range spans -55°C to 150°C, covering the full automotive and industrial ambient envelope. The 1500W peak pulse rating is derated above 25°C per the datasheet curve — budget derating at 85°C ambient for realistic surge capability.
Active production, sourced per RFQ
Supplied on tape and reel per the standard SMB packaging. No official pin-compatible second source is listed on the Bourns record, but the 1.5SMBJ series covers multiple standoff voltages if a different rail needs protection on the same board.
