AEC-Q101 transient suppressor for 45V rails
The 1.5SMBJ45CA: It clamps transients on 45V nominal supply lines — the reverse standoff voltage (VRWM) of 45V means the diode stays high-impedance below that level and only conducts during an overvoltage event. That protection window — 45V standoff to 72.7V clamp — is tight enough to shield downstream ICs rated for 80V absolute maximum without nuisance triggering on normal supply ripple.
Package and temperature envelope
The junction temperature range spans -55°C to 150°C, covering the full automotive under-hood band and industrial equipment operating in unventilated enclosures. The single bidirectional channel protects both polarities of an AC signal pair or a bipolar supply rail with one device, saving board space versus two unidirectional diodes in anti-series. Power line protection is not intended — the diode's 1500W rating is sized for transient suppression, not continuous overvoltage clamping.
