1.5 kW clamping ceiling for a 13 V rail
The 1.5SMBJ13A: The 13 V reverse standoff voltage means the part draws negligible leakage below the normal rail voltage; breakdown begins at 14.4 V min, so a 13 V supply rail stays below the conduction threshold during steady-state operation. The single-channel Zener-type construction protects one polarity — positive transients are shunted to ground; negative excursions forward-bias the diode and clamp at roughly 1 V. For a 13 V rail carrying sensitive logic or sensor power, this clamping margin keeps downstream devices inside their absolute-max ratings during an IEC 61000-4-5 surge event.
Junction temperature range and package fit
The DO-214AA (SMB) surface-mount package uses the standard JEDEC footprint shared by the 1.5SMBJ family.
