12 ns propagation delay — the timing closure floor
The ATF22V10CZ-12SC is an Atmel EE PLD from the 22V10 series, delivering a 12 ns propagation delay that sets the upper bound on combinatorial logic depth between registered outputs. With 10 macrocells and a 5V supply rail, this part fits glue-logic consolidation in legacy 5V systems where a faster PLD would over-budget the timing margin.
Atmel has marked the ATF22V10CZ-12SC as obsolete. A board spin is required for any functional replacement.
Supplied in a 24-SOIC (0.295", 7.50mm Width) surface-mount package, the ATF22V10CZ-12SC uses the standard SOIC-24 footprint with 1.27 mm pitch. The 5V-only I/O means no level translation on the PLD side, but the 12 ns delay must be budgeted against the downstream logic's setup-and-hold requirements — a 5V CPLD running at 12 ns typically gates a 50-60 MHz registered toggle rate before the internal feedback path limits the FSM clock.
