Active 12-bit DAC in a PLCC-20 — what the bench sees
The MX7548JP+: Data feeds in through a parallel interface, so it ties directly to a microcontroller or FPGA bus without a serial shift register. The external reference input lets you scale the full-scale output current by the reference voltage — handy if the board already carries a precision reference.
Both the analog and digital supply pins accept 5 V or a wider 11.4 V to 15.75 V range — the same voltage feeds both sides, so a single 5 V rail or a 12 V rail powers the whole IC.
Housed in a 20-lead PLCC (J-lead) package, 9×9 mm body, surface-mount. The J-lead footprint is common on legacy and current-production boards; hot-air rework is straightforward with a standard PLCC nozzle.
