12-bit multiplying DAC with R-2R core
The MX7543KN+ is a 12-bit multiplying digital-to-analog converter built around an R-2R ladder architecture, delivering current-unbuffered output with a 2µs settling time. The serial data interface and differential output make it a fit for precision control loops and waveform generation where a single 5V rail powers both the analog and digital supplies.
Package and supply voltage
Housed in a 16-pin DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) through-hole package, the MX7543KN+ mates with standard breadboards and perforated prototyping boards. The supplier device package is 16-PDIP. Both analog and digital sections run from a single 5V supply, simplifying the power tree. Operating temperature is specified from 0°C to 70°C, covering commercial indoor equipment and bench instrumentation.
Linearity and output type
INL and DNL are ±0.5 LSB (max) and ±1 LSB (max) respectively, indicating monotonicity over the full 12-bit range. The current-unbuffered output means the DAC drives a load resistor or an external op-amp; the output compliance voltage must be respected to avoid linearity degradation.
Analog Devices lists the MX7543KN+ as Active in production and ROHS3 compliant.
