Sourcing and lifecycle — no surprises here
The MAX997EUA+T carries an Active lifecycle status and is ROHS3 compliant. No end-of-life notice, no last-time-buy clock ticking. This is a current-production part you can qualify into a new BOM without worrying about a forced redesign in six months.
What the key ratings mean for your BOM
The 7ns propagation delay is the headline number. It determines how fast the comparator can respond to an input overdrive — for a high-speed PWM current-sense loop or a clock-recovery circuit, that 7ns window sets the upper frequency limit before the comparator's delay eats into your timing budget. If your signal edges are slower than a few tens of nanoseconds, the delay is irrelevant; if you are switching at several megahertz, it is the spec that gates the design. Input offset voltage is 1.5mV max at 5V. Input bias current is 15µA max at 5V.
