Mono audio codec for portable and industrial audio chains
The MAX9860ETG+T is a mono audio codec from Analog Devices built around a sigma-delta modulator. It packs two ADCs and one DAC at 16-bit resolution, with a serial data interface that keeps the pin count low. Dynamic range hits 81 dB on the ADC side and 90 dB on the DAC side — enough for voice-band, intercom, or basic audio playback where fidelity matters but board space is tight. The 24-TQFN (4x4) exposed-pad package is small — about the size of a grain of rice — and the pad underneath pulls heat into the board. That means the rework tech needs a hot-air station with a small nozzle and good temperature control; the exposed pad wicks solder quickly, so a preheat on the bottom side helps avoid cold joints. Pin 1 is marked by a dot on the top, and the pad pattern is symmetric enough that a quick visual check after reflow catches misalignment.
Active production — no LTB clock ticking
Lifecycle status is Active per the manufacturer, and the part carries ROHS3 compliance. No last-time-buy notice, no NRND flag. For the procurement desk, that means standard lead times apply through distribution, and there is no urgency to qualify a second source unless your BOM requires dual sourcing for risk mitigation. The MAX9860ETG+T is available through independent and authorized channels; current pricing and availability are confirmed at quote time against an RFQ.
