What the 6 µA quiescent and 50 mV hysteresis mean for the BOM

With a maximum quiescent current of 6 µA, the MAX983CSA+ draws negligible supply current in always-on threshold monitors — battery-backed overvoltage or undervoltage detectors see years of standby without draining the cell. The 50 mV built-in hysteresis prevents output chatter when the input signal sits near the trip point, eliminating the need for external positive-feedback resistors. This is a direct BOM simplification for window comparators and zero-crossing detectors.
