Protection and depop — what they save you
The depop feature eliminates the audible pop when the amplifier powers up or down — no external mute transistor or RC snubber needed. Short-circuit protection shuts down the output if the speaker wires touch, and thermal protection throttles back before the die hits its limit. For a battery-powered design, that means fewer passives and a simpler BOM. The -40°C to +85°C operating range covers industrial and outdoor applications — think smart speakers on a loading dock or audio alerts in a factory panel.
