22.5W per channel — what the output rating means for the speaker load
Rated 22.5W x 2 into a 4Ω load — this is the continuous output power per channel at the specified supply voltage and THD+N level. For an 8Ω speaker, expect roughly half the power (~11W) at the same supply rail, since power scales inversely with load impedance for a given voltage swing. The 4.5V to 14V supply range means this amplifier runs from a single Li-ion cell (3.7V nominal boosted to 5V) up to a 12V automotive rail. At 14V the output swing is maximised; at lower rails the available power drops proportionally with the square of the supply voltage.
Industrial temperature grade and thermal package
The Class D architecture keeps efficiency above 85% typical, so the thermal load on the package is lower than a linear amplifier delivering the same output. Housed in a 44-WFQFN with exposed pad (supplier device package 44-TQFN 7x7 mm).
Integrated features shrink the external BOM
On-chip depop circuitry suppresses power-up and power-down clicks without external mute transistors. Short-circuit and thermal protection eliminate the need for a separate protection IC or PTC fuse on each channel. Volume control and shutdown are integrated — a DC voltage or I²C interface sets the gain, and the shutdown pin drops quiescent current to microamp levels. The mute function holds the outputs at mid-rail during start-up sequencing.
