Quad comparator with 80 ns response — what it means on the bench
The MAX944CSD+T is a quad general-purpose comparator, packing four independent comparators into a 14-SOIC package. Its headline spec is an 80 ns maximum propagation delay.
Supply range and temperature — where this part fits
Supply voltage runs from 2.7 V to 5.5 V on a single rail, or split supplies if needed. Operating temperature is 0°C to 70°C.
Input offset and bias — what to expect at the trip point
Maximum input offset voltage is 2 mV at 5.5 V supply, and input bias current is 0.15 µA max. For a general-purpose comparator, that offset is tight enough for threshold detection in window comparators, zero-crossing detectors, and level translators without external trimming in most cases. CMRR and PSRR both typ 81.94 dB, so supply ripple and common-mode shifts have limited influence on the trip point.
Quiescent current — power budget note
Quiescent current maxes at 600 µA for all four comparators combined.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The MAX944CSD+T carries an Active lifecycle status and is ROHS3 compliant. No end-of-life notice is on record.
