Product details

Dual comparator with on-chip voltage reference

The MAX923ESA+T integrates two comparators and a precision voltage reference in a single 8-SOIC package — a space-saving combination for threshold detection and window comparators where an external reference would otherwise add a second IC. Each comparator draws a maximum quiescent current of 7.5 µA, making this part suitable for battery-powered sensor nodes and portable instrumentation where the supply budget is tight. The 50 mV internal hysteresis cleans up noisy input transitions without external feedback resistors, reducing component count on the board.

Supply range and output drive

CMOS and TTL-compatible outputs sink or source up to 50 mA typical — enough to drive a logic input directly or switch a small load without a buffer transistor. Propagation delay is 12 µs maximum, which sets the upper frequency for edge detection; for applications like overvoltage latch or zero-crossing detection at line frequencies, this response is adequate.

Temperature grade and environment

The input offset voltage is 10 mV maximum at 5 V, and the common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) and power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR) are both 80 dB typical, keeping the threshold stable across supply variations and common-mode noise.

Store the reels dry — the SOIC package is not moisture-sensitive per JEDEC Level 1, but standard MSL handling applies.
