Dual comparator with an onboard reference — what it means for the BOM

The MAX923CSA+ from Maxim Integrated packs two comparators and a voltage reference into a single 8-SOIC. That reference is the differentiator versus a plain dual comparator — you save one external reference IC and its associated bypass cap. The internal hysteresis is set at 50mV, which gives clean switching on slow-moving signals without external positive feedback resistors.
