Key parametrics for signal-chain fit
With 1.5 mV of built-in hysteresis, the MAX9142ESA+ avoids output chatter on slow-moving input signals — useful in threshold-detection circuits where noise on the reference line would otherwise cause multiple transitions. The 2 mV max input offset voltage at 5 V sets the DC accuracy floor; for a 100 mV threshold, the error contribution is 2 %. The 0.32 µA input bias current at 5 V is low enough for high-impedance sources like photodiode amplifiers without an additional buffer stage.
