Signal-chain timing and supply fit
The MAX9140EUK+T is a single general-purpose comparator from Analog Devices in a SOT-23-5 package. Its 40 ns propagation delay suits high-speed threshold detection and zero-crossing circuits where the comparator must settle before the next sample edge. The push-pull output drives CMOS or TTL inputs directly — no external pull-up resistor needed.
Hysteresis and noise margin
Built-in 1.5 mV hysteresis prevents output chatter when the input signal lingers near the threshold — a common issue in slow-moving sensor edges or noisy ground references. The hysteresis is internal, so no external feedback resistors are required. Input offset voltage is 2 mV max at 5 V, and input bias current stays under 0.32 µA — both typical for a general-purpose comparator. CMRR and PSRR are both 81.94 dB typical, keeping the trip point stable across common-mode shifts and supply ripple.
Temperature grade and quiescent draw
Quiescent current is 300 µA max — low enough for always-on battery-powered monitoring loops where every microamp counts. Lifecycle status is Active per Analog Devices, with full RoHS3 compliance.
