The 45 µs max propagation delay sets the upper frequency limit for the input signal: at a 10 kHz square wave, the output edge is delayed by less than half a period, so the comparator stays in phase for most slow-loop control applications. The 4 mV internal hysteresis prevents output chatter when the input crosses the threshold slowly, eliminating the need for external positive feedback resistors in many designs.
