What this dual comparator brings to the board
The MAX9020EKA+T is a dual general-purpose comparator from Maxim Integrated's Beyond-the-Rails™ series. It operates from a single 1.8 V to 5.5 V supply. The open-drain output allows wired-OR connections and level translation to a higher-voltage pull-up. Built-in 4 mV hysteresis cleans up the switching threshold. The 2 µA max quiescent current is for the entire dual comparator block.
2 µA quiescent — what it means for the power budget
At 2 µA max quiescent for both comparators, this part fits into always-on sense circuits. The 50 mA typical output current is enough to drive a logic input or a small LED indicator. The input bias current is 0.001 µA at 5 V.
